This place is not bad... But not that good. Very nice people. Small place but a good place to go and chill. I found this place on the scenic drive to Vegas. Salsa was a bit weird tasting with huge chunks of Scallions. Not bad.. but just not used to Salsa like that. Main course I got the Mexican Pizza with shredded beef. Good tortilla that it was on, but I thought the beef tasted kind of eh. If I was passing through again, I probably won't go back. If I was in Lake H for an extended period of time, I probably would give it another shot.

Bad Miguels is a great. Friendly Staff, good food and now they moved next door to their old location with a New look. Great job.

We're locals and eat here all the time! Love Mexican food! The staff is always friendly and pleasant! The good is pretty good for the price. It's nothing you'll be writing home about or jumping up and down but it's better than any fast food ever thought of being and the staff makes up for what little the food is lacking.

We used to enjoy their food. Hadn't been in about 6 months but thought we'd try it for a change. Wow! Have they gone downhill- all the way down I must say. The service has always been so so but it's even worse now. Tables needed busing, chips and salsa and drinks needed ordering and employees wandered around like there was nothing to do. Then came the food. All I can say is we should have stayed home and opened a can of tasteless red sauce and called it chili Colorado. Save your money. It's the worst Mexican food in town.

I hate to leave negative reviews but this was just heartbreaking, we have come to this restaurant a few times before and being new in town my family and I are ones to love small towns and their personal owned businesses we love to support local establishments, but we were so rudely disrespected this last visit. We always come in with a smile and respect as well as leaving good tips for great service, unfortunately we did not receive either with this place we came to have dinner this evening. We showed up it was packed (which is fine we were willing to wait) however my husband put our name on the "list" and the waiter told us it would be about 10 min. So because there is NO place to sit and wait we chose to sit outside 118 degrees we are still acclimating and it was a bit hot for our four year old son as he was getting extremely fussy after about 15min so my husband asked how long and returned outside to tell me the waiter had a bit of an attitude and told my husband they were cleaning off the table . I was opting to go to the car and wait in the AC for my boy, when they called another party who was waiting who had gotten there after us, and seats them. Then the same waiter comes to the patio door and says we are cleaning a table. My husband was upset and said "no this is B.S we were here before that other party, the waiter replied RUDLY WITH "you have to understand " my husband cut him off with "No I do not" and we walked away. I'm appalled at the lack of service or courtesy, not even asking if the people outside would like water while they wait. I noticed aside from us having a child there were elderly waiting in the hot. Not okay.

The "bad" must mean their service. We waited over an hour for food. The restaurant was not even crowded. No refills on the drinks. When the food came, the carne asada burrito was mostly beam, only a few pieces of carne asada in the burrito. Asked for refills that never came. This is the first and last time we will visit.

Had lunch there today, was waited on quickly and food came quickly! Comfortable seating which I really need because of back! It was not extremely spicy which I appreciated but had a good flavor! We had a lunch special and it was good! Small place but customers arrived regularly!

Yummy!! I'm eating beef taquitos, rice, beans , guacamole ( out of this world!) with some Zinfandel wine. Husband had quesadilla and Arnold Palmer . They give beans and salsa with home made chips. Great place, casual , friendly . I've been here many times and ..,, I'll be back!!!

Not sure what's up there. Hubby and I go there occasionally for lunch. We were a bit shocked. Somehow the whole place looked like it needed a good cleaning...and although the food was good ( I order the same thing every time so I have a base for comparison) it was not to their own standards....it was good, but not sensational as it had been in the past.....Perhaps it's a new cook? Will I return? Yes. Beer is icy cold, Margaritas are great and the service is warm. I'm sure that the food will improve next time...

It isn't the best Mexican food you will ever eat.......... but at least it is cheap!! They have specials every night of the week. Friendly service. Pretty basic Mexican fare... but two of us ate dinner for $14.87. That is worth an extra star for sure.

Bad Miguel's is a great place to grab some Mexican food in Havasu, if you're willing to drive off the main drag. I love their complimentary beans and salsa, kind of different. They serve great mixed drinks and have good service!

Good Mexican food and drinks, prices seem to be out of the '70's, which is fine by me! Great breakfast menu, traditional American breakfasts, but you need to do the Huevos Rancheros!

Cheap food, good service. Lots of old people who take days to eat, so it can be busy. But the price is great and so are the portions.

I was in Havasu this past weekend, and we stopped by Bad Miguel's for dinner. It's a small, honestly unimpressive looking Mexican place in a strip mall. When we got there I started wondering how the meal was going to turn out. We went inside and were seated by a courteous server/hostess. Chips with salsa and bean dip were brought to the table promptly. The salsa was definitely not anything to write home about and honestly could use some improvement. If you are going to do something, do it well. The bean dip was good, I couldn't tell if it was anything other than just plain beans. I opened the menu and was shocked to see prices in the $9 range all over the menu. I don't know many places where you get chips and salsa served at the table in that price point. I ended up ordering the Carne Asada Burrito, served wet with green sauce, with beans and rice. Our food came out promptly and I was surprised about how good it was. There was nothing complain about. Good food for good prices. I will definitely be back in the future. It hit the spot. I also noticed on the way out that they have a pretty nice patio area out front with outdoor seating. I hadn't really paid attention to it when we went inside.

Overall we really enjoyed our experience with Bad Miguel's and would definitely recommend it. We ordered two number 12's (beef burrito combos) and some flautas. The food came out on time and was very reasonably priced. The inside of the restaurant looks to be newly remodeled with color paintings on the wall.

This is a really yummy place to eat. We always get off the water late and they're open until 9 fri sat and sun. My husband and I come out every wknd almost in summer and this is our go-to dinner spot. Salsa is good, chips are fresh staff is sweet. :)) definitely recommend to strangers and friends.

This is by far the best Mexican food in Lake Havasu City and you can feed a family of 4 for under 40 dollars. I have been coming to this place for over 7 years and when I moved away it was the only place worth while coming back to in this town. The service is excellent, the ambience is good, and if you like hot salsa ask for the green stuff.

This place lives up to the 'bad' in its name. A friend and I came out almost 2 weeks ago and were told by locals that this place was good. We told the girl at the counter that people recommended eating here. She replied in a surprised tone "Oh they did?" We should've walked away at that point. My friend and I split a bean and cheese burrito with guacamole. She got sick from it. No bueno. Will not come here when we come back to havasu in august.

Just had lunch at this quaint place nicely decorated and very casual. Loved the prices, loved the food and it is definitely a place I recommend for a casual quick lunch. They serve breakfast until noon too! We did not try that but I thing it is good to know especially for the visitors to town who might be recovering form a different time zone.

absolutely horrible and disappointing. Nothing fresh made about this food. Food was spongy and tasteless. I didn't think it was possible that a margarita could be bad, this one made me rethink that. Won't go back

I've been to Bad Miguel's nearly every time I've been to Havasu over the last 3 years and generally the experience has been decent. This time was less than stellar. Inside we were seated promptly, given menus, and the bowls of tortilla chips were brought to our table right away. They include a small bowl of re-fried beans and another with salsa. Then the waiter leaves to help other customers or something. (BTW, Bad Miguels, you need to clean your menus once in a while. Our's had beans, salsa, and god knows what inside them). When he returns 10 minutes later he asks for our drink order and never asks if were ready to place our food order as well. I mean c'mon you've been gone 10 minutes. So he returns with the drinks and the blended margaritas taste like a glass of dirty lemon water with salty rim. He took'em back and brought news ones on the rocks. I ordered the "Seafood Burrito" which sounded awesome on the menu. CAUTION: Do not order this burrito unless you want stomach cramps. I was stuck in the worst situation of being so hungry I was ready to eat hair and having to eat the worst burrito of my life. I chose the burrito. Afterward my stomach was making so many strange noises. It sounded like a model-T Ford, on bad gas, going uphill in 4th gear. I won't go into further details because I think you understand where this is going. I don't know if this place is under new management, has a new cook, or what but they are off my radar for a while for sure. Not one person in my party of 8 liked their meal. We were all sort of wishing we have just hit Del Taco instead.

When you're looking for a restaurant that can seat 10 people all together you'll take whatever you can. Walked in and Bad's could seat us right then and there. The chips reminded us of that old potato chip "Munch em's" they were thin. It was almost like you know how sometimes cheapskates will take a two-ply toilet paper and unroll it to make two toilet paper rolls? It was like that. Someone took a ply of the corn tortilla and made a thinner version of it. That - or it was just old. Everyone's looked ok. My taquitos were frozen out of the box @ best. Nothing home made. Hubbies "three burrito combo platter" was three enchiladas. The size did not equate burritos. The little bean dip was a nice touch with the salsa and munch ems. Our waitress was a tad overwhelmed. She must have asked us to slow down several times all the while explaining that she was new or that she had to write everything down for the cook :(. This place has potential. Sitting on the patio area @ night while enjoying a few cold ones.

We hear rave's about this place, so, I decided to bring my daughter after a fast shopping trip. Enough about us, now for the review. We ordered, and when the meal came, the food presentation was typical Havasu Mexican. The big disappointment came when I cut into my Chili Relleno and a shredded beef taco, with beans and rice. This is my go to menu choice when I try a New Mexican Restaurant. The relleno was like an egg soufflé with the chili off to one side. Like a short cut recipe you find in a cheap cookbook. Very bland and no crusty shell. Yucky! So very disappointing ! Not going to recommending you try it!

Enjoyed the breakfast! This place has a selection of American, and Mexican style breakfast that we enjoyed. Have not tried there lunch or dinner,we will have to do that next time. The only negative is that the service is a bit slow.

We placed a carryout order that included guacamole and chips, shredded beef enchiladas and carne asada tacos. The tacos were excellent. They added salsa too. Everything was very good except the bland chile verde salsa they put over the rice. Definitely would go again.

Hi, We like Bad Miguels.... Ok, so maybe the food is not amazing. The location a bit hard to find tucked back in the strip mall next to food city. The decor leaves a bit to be desired and the service is only so so. But, there is just something about this place we like. Maybe it is the 1/2 off all food Thrusdays after 4:00pm. Maybe it is the fact that it is a local dive and not too many of the boat crowd frequents the place. Maybe it is just that is it consistant and you know what you are going to get when you walk in the door..... ok Mexican food... cheap ! Don't forget they have amazing breakfast specials too.

The enchiladas were good but the chips and salsa were terrible. The server walked by, stared at my empty cup, and walked on. I had to flag him down for a refill. I waited a solid 15 mins after the meal was done for the ticket. For the price I would go back again but would flag the server down faster.

Bad Miguel's is appropriately named. About the only good thing about our lunch today was the beer was cold and the chips were crunchy!!!!! The mini chimi that my husband ordered was full of canned chicken. The waitress couldn't bring us limes for our Dos Equis because they were out. She brought us lemons. Really? The restaurant sits caddy corner from a Food Mart. Hmmmm. Maybe send the bussed out for a couple limes. Just a thought. Won't be suggesting Bad Miguel's or visiting it again anytime soon!!!!

Great Mexican food place. Don't listen to the bad reviews on here. Try out bad Miguel's and judge for yourself just how good the food is. Do yourself a favor and try the fried ice cream.

They have done a wonderful job in their new location. The staff is awesome, and very willing to help and accommodate your requests. This is my place of choice for the BEST tacos in Havasu. Carne Asada tacos with onions and cilantro are perfection in a corn tortilla. They kept the ice tea coming. This is a wonderful experience. Service was prompt and friendly.

Itty bitty basket of chips on arrival with bland salsa and some refried beans. No offer to refill it either. Margaritas were excellent! I ordered the pork Chimichanga and it seemed to be covered in some sort of chicken gravy - a LOT of it. Not my fave, for sure. Hubs had tri-tip with polenta and raved about it. We had to wait a while to get our check and then pay at the bar, which was odd to me. If we go back, I'll definitely order something along the lines of a taco or anything that would not require gravy (but since when does a chimichanga need gravy??)

I was intrigued by the artfully done graphics on the sign and the name. Mystery solved, pretty bad. The decor is actually entertaining (though I didn't care for the primary colored tables and office style chairs), wall murals and etc. were very nicely done. We were greeted at the counter/bar and told we could seat ourselves, it was a balmy if slightly windy Havasu evening so we chose the patio, after some minutes we were approached by a young man who handed us menus and the woman that greeted us at the counter. She took our order for beer plus chips and salsa, some time passed.....I wondered at how much time passed......the wind kicked up, we spoke of politics, love lost and motor homes, and then finally we were served with what seems to be the most basic of Mexican patio restaurant fare, the aforesaid chips and beer. And here's where it fell apart. The chips were completely unseasoned, the first chip I chose actually asked me for salt, the salsa had a good consistency, but seemed to be a mixture of only tomato, onion and perhaps cilantro. No one had so much as waved a pepper over it, it was caprici, lacking only basil and mozzarella. Never have I had anything claiming to be salsa served to me that lacked any hint of spice, I dare say the chips overwhelmed the salsa. Served along side the salsa was a small bowl of re-refried beans......I am anxious to know what machine or chemical process was used in order to remove every trace of flavor from these beans. Wife orders guacamole, and here things improved, it was quite probably the nicest guacamole I have ever had, tart, refreshing and substantial. However based on what had already been served us, and given that all dishes were likely to be served with at least a portion of the flavorless beans and the tomato concoction masquerading as salsa, we decided to focus on the beer, and enjoy a nice home made meal of eggo's and Hershey's chocolate. Bad Miguel's has the potential to be a kitschy little cantina, I hope somebody pays mind to the quality of the food, and more pointedly the flavor. It may yet not fail.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
